Ómar Jabali was born in Reykjavik to an Icelandic mother and a Middle 
Eastern father but was raised and educated in France. After 
completing Film School, he joined the local Icelandic Film Industry 
where he has been working steadily ever since. Almost every great DOP 
has at some point shot in Iceland and Omar found himself in a unique 
position where he was able to AC for the most prominent and 
knowledgeable artists/technicians in the profession. During these 
formative years he also kept busy shooting and was able to develop his 
own emotionally sensitive yet dark and brooding style. Omar has a 
parallel career as a documentarian, creating or participating in 
projects that have taken him to the edges of the world. 

Ómar lives between Paris and Reykjavík
